a food solidarity project in glasgow
Our
Projects
Plant Grow Share (PGS) is a community food organisation based in South Central Glasgow, working to tackle food insecurity, build climate resilience, and strengthen local food networks in Govanhill and surrounding areas. We connect growers, community organisations, and food providers to increase access to fresh, locally grown produce while also empowering residents to grow their own food.
Through our network of raised beds, community gardens, and bike courier redistribution programme, we supply fresh fruit and vegetables to partner food banks and community food projects . Our projects turn underused urban spaces into vibrant growing sites—like the raised beds at Dixon Avenue and Langside Road—where residents can harvest herbs and salads freely and take part in workshops on seasonal growing, sustainable practices, and cooking with homegrown food.
Since launching, PGS has redistributed over a tonne of fresh produce to local food banks and supported individuals and families to start growing at home. By combining food access, environmental care, and community learning, we’re working towards a fairer, greener, and more resilient local food system—one where everyone can take part in growing and sharing fresh food.
